Hadfield Wood Recyclers has secured one of the UK’s largest waste wood contracts with Viridor which will see it handle all of the waste wood gathered across Greater Manchester for the next five years.
The deal has been signed in the wake of the new £3.8bn PFI waste contract for Greater Manchester.
Hadfield, which is based in Manchester, had previously been working for the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority for five years – during which time the amount of wood it recycles has increased from 7,000 tonnes in 2004/05 to an anticipated 40,000 tonnes this year.
Hadfield Wood Recyclers’ managing director Geoff Hadfield described the win as “a fantastic contract for usâ€.
