UKTFA unveils eco-friendly stand at FutureBuild 2007

7 February 2007

The Timbe Frame Association (UKTFA) will unveil a carbon neutral stand at this year’s Futurebuild.

Recyclable materials will be used throughout, and the timber will be from FSC certified sources.

The association will reveal facts and figures about timber frame, as well as giving visitors the chance to test their knowledge on the carbon credentials of timber frame construction

The UKTFA hopes that the forthcoming event will not only raise their profile, attracting new members but also to inform architects, designers and the development community on the ways timber frame can help them rise to the forthcoming challenges of the Code for Sustainable Homes and the drive towards zero carbon housing by 2016.

Bryan Woodley, chief executive of the UKTFA, said: “Futurebuild is an important exhibition for us as it helps us talk to the designers and developers who are clamouring for more information on how to use timber frame. It is also a great opportunity for the timber industry to show how sustainable building and modern methods of construction can be so easily and successfully linked together.”
