The Olympic velodrome which boasts a huge timber roof has come a little closer to completion.
The timber ceiling is in place and the double-curved venue is watertight, keeping it "firmly on track" to be the first Olympic Park venue to be completed early next year, Olympic Delivery Authority chief executive David Higgins said.
More than 1,000 exposed timber panels, covering 13,500 sq metres, are set on top of the cable-net roof structure.
The next major stage is the cycling track which is due to be installed in the autumn. Building work on the 6,000-seat velodrome began in March 2009.
