New MD for Stewart Milne Timber

Stewart Milne Timber Systems (SMTS) has appointed Ron Easton as its new managing director.

Easton, a qualified accountant and business specialist joins the company from the board of Robertson Group where he held a successful track record in taking Robertson Timberkit through a profitable cycle of growth. He brings a wealth of general management experience gained across a range of sectors including fmcg, consulting, aerospace, pharmaceutical and IT.

In his new role, Ron will oversee SMTS operations nationwide, leading a team focused on pioneering initiatives, particularly in the area of sustainability, and growing the company’s UK market leading position.

Commenting on his new role, he said: “The UK timber frame market is one of the most exciting places to be at the moment and I am really looking forward to tackling the challenges of 2010 with Stewart Milne Timber Systems. As the housing market recovers, speed of build, sustainability, factory-built quality and cost will all be highly significant features for our clients and timber frame is the ideal solution.
