CPA chief to address federation dinner

Michael Ankers , chief executive of the Construction Products Association, is to be guest speaker at The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) dinner on March 4.

Tickets are still available for the event which will be held in the Banqueting House in Whitehall in London.

"The annual dinner is a coming together of the industry and that has value in good times and bad," said the TTF's membership chief Jean Rennie, who urged members to "do their best to support both their industry and their trade association.

Rennie acknowledge that the Federation had considered cancelling the event in the light of current economic conditions.

"We have thought long and hard about whether we should hold a Dinner at all this year – what have we to celebrate?

"However, looking at an Annual Dinner as a coming together of the industry, in good times and bad, then we started to see this event differently. We even looked at the archives and think that the only time the Annual Dinner has been cancelled was during the Blitz in London in the Second World War!"
