Following a successful event in York earlier this year, TRADA Technology and Carpenter Oak & Woodland have teamed up once more to bring Green Timber in Construction to Wiltshire and Scotland, to explain how to design an efficient and cost-effective building using green timber.
The one-day seminars are aimed at industry professionals interested in developing their understanding of green timber frame as a construction method. The day will encompass the whole build process, from specification and selection, through to the joints and connections required. There will also be presentations on cladding onto structural timber frames, as well as infill panels, windows, doors and glazing.
The seminars will be held on:
•10th September 2009 – Chippenham, Wiltshire
•24th September 2009 – Loch Lomond, Scotland
The event in Wiltshire will include a tour of Carpenter Oak & Woodland’s framing yard, to give delegates the opportunity to see firsthand how frames are fabricated and talk to experienced framers about the manufacturing and erection processes. In Scotland, a tour of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park HQ will give delegates an insight into how the project team successfully delivered the largest green timber frame in the UK.
Cost is £99.00 + VAT for TRADA Members and £115.00 + VAT for non-members. Every delegate will receive a free copy of TRADA publication ‘Green Oak in Construction’.
