24 March 2015

Metsä Wood is looking to introduce France to the merits of Accoya with a range of decking and cladding made from the material.

“Accoya wood products have been used in some of the world’s most prestigious commercial projects and have consistently delivered excellent performance in even the harshest of conditions,” said Arnaud Le Gall of Metsä Wood.

“We are now looking forward to bringing Accoya decking and cladding to the French market. We are confident in the technology’s proven performance – together with its aesthetic appeal and environmental credentials – will provide a welcome addition to the deck market across France.”

Both ranges will be available in a variety of colours including black, dark brown, grey and a translucent version. Both come with Accoya’s 50 years above ground and 25 years below ground warranty.

The decking range will make use of invisible fixings and is double profiled, while the cladding range is texturised and comes with invisible face fixings.

Manufactured by Accsys Technologies, Accoya is said to be one of the most advanced wood products on the market today.

Bryan Crennell, director of sales and marketing at Accsys, said: “We are delighted that Metsä Wood is to bring Accoya decking and cladding to the French market. The products looks magnificent and with the wide variety of colours available combined with the invisible fixings I’m confident the ranges will prove popular. Accoya decking has been proven to avoid high thermal gain which can be a problem with some deck and terrace materials. Accoya decking is barefoot friendly making it the ideal material for outdoor decking in France.”
