Timber leisure centre planned

3 October 2008

A new timberframe swimming pool and leisure complex is to be built at Pwllheli, Wales.

The wooden indoor complex will be built at Craig yr Imbill overlooking the sea on the outskirts of the town.

It will have an indoor swimming pool with a children’s splash pool, fitness suite and sauna.

Developer Haulfryn Group, which already has a holiday park on the site called Gimblet Rock, said there would also be a bar and restaurant.

Haulfryn submitted a planning application to Gwynedd Council last year to demolish an existing two-storey central facilities building and construct a single storey central facilities building in the same location.

The timber framed structure is being designed and manufactured in Pinelog’s specially equipped factory in Derbyshire.

The project should be completed by the end of the year.
