Stewart Milne boosts business with Bovis boss

The Stewart Milne Group has appointed Bovis high-flyer John Slater to head its Homes operation throughout the UK.

Slater joins the board of the Stewart Milne as Group managing director, Homes. He is responsible for all house building operations across the UK.

The company said Slater will lead its ambitions to establish itself as a top ten UK house builder.
Slater brings management skills and experience from working with Bovis for ten years and from previous occupation in the oil industry with Chevron.

Slater will be based in Aberdeen but his particular focus will be to expand Stewart Milne Homes across the UK.

Sterart Milne managing director Glenn Allison said: “We want to take the business to a new level and are targeting a turnover figure of £700m by 2010. We need the right quality of people at every level within our business to achieve our plans. John's appointment is a major milestone in that process.”
