Show backs timber 100%

If the Timber Show hasn’t provided visitors with enough to be going on for another year,  London’s Earl’s Court will play host to another new show for the timber trade, 100% Materials: Wood.

The show will be bolted onto 100% Design and its organisers claim they want to inspire architects and designers to specify timber. The show will include materials from super-light wood/foam composites to dense engineered timbers designed to replace metals. The show is sponsored by Wood for Good, the American Hardwood Export Council and International Timber.

Highlights from 100% Wood will include: Avon Plywood will show Valchromat’s coloured fibreboard, which is a high quality moisture resistant board created to withstand machining. Curved, laminated and veneered panels up to 1300mm x 3050mm will be on show on Bagpress’ stand. Applications for its products include reception area paneling, column casings, shop fitting panels, kitchen doors and drawer fronts. Bagpress supplies vacuum pressing equipment and offers a mould making service for companies carrying out their own laminating and veneering.

Design-led contractor Eurban Construction will be exhibiting. The company specialises in designing and constructing solid timber buildings. Eurban claims to help developers construct innovative, sustainable buildings. Canopies, walkways and insulated buildings made with imaginative curved roof structures will be shown off by Fordingbridge.

Together with technical support and advice, Instacoustic claims to provide a complete range of high performance acoustic floors, walls and ceilings, for refurbishment and new build projects. The company claims its products exceed Part E of the Building Regulations.

KLH makes cross-laminated structural timber panels for walls, floors and roofs. The company says its boards can be used for rapid construction of extensions, houses, schools, halls, offices or warehouses.
Scandinavian Window Systems supply laminated timber and aluminium-wood composite windows and doors. Its products include “Olsen” lift/slide doors, “Sunflex” folding/sliding doors, Danish “Je-Trae” high security entrance doors and “Dooria” internal doors.
