Dr Hugh Mansfield-Williams has joined the Engineering and Product Services Division of Trada Technology as technical manager.
Formerly Senor Lecturer at the Forest Products Research Centre (FPRC) of Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, Dr Mansfield-Williams is a recognised specialist in the mechanical characterisation of wood and wood-based products, as well as in wood mechanics, wood in construction and the secondary processing of wood.
At FPRC, he was closely involved in a number of research projects funded by grant awarding bodies such as the Waste Resource Action Programme and EU funding mechanisms including CRAFT, MAST, Erasmus, Leonardo and Copernicus.
He is also the author of several respected publications, including the Institute of Wood Science Certificate Course workbook Carcassing and strength grading.
