Trends in Doors

Flush Doors, Panelled Doors and Performance Doors that are fully
certified to the relevant British Standards for fire resistance, cold
smoke reduction, sound attenuation and mechanical strength, are
designed and manufactured by Scotts for many of the UK's leading
interior designers, specifiers and housebuilders. Scotts special
performance door sets have also been produced for x-ray, light-tight,
moisture resistant and anti-vandal requirements. 

"Although here at Scotts we manufacture high performance doors, we are
also one of only a few companies manufacturing fire-rated Victorian
Panelled doors," says Matthew Woodford, Divisional Manager at Scotts.

With such wide-reaching involvement, the Bespoke Joinery Team at Scotts
is best placed to observe trends in both material and design. One such
observation has been the increased use of American Black Walnut, for
domestic doors in particular. Matthew said: "There has certainly been a
shift by designers and specifiers to installing premium doors built
using American Black Walnut and with feature-grooved faces. As a
material, American Black Walnut is easy to work with and provides a
high-class finish; delivering a real statement to a home or development
project."

A combination of traditional craftsmanship and the latest technology
enables Scotts to produce flush and panelled doors of the highest
quality, in short lead times.
