TRADA Technology has produced Essential Timber Frame Standard Details (for single occupancy detached, semi-detached and terraced houses) in a ready-to-use electronic PDF format.

To celebrate its 75th anniversary this year, TRADA has commissioned an inspirational publication entitled Timber in contemporary architecture - a designer's guide, written by leading experts in timber architecture and engineering Peter Ross, Giles Downes and Andrew Lawrence.

TRADA Technology's revised Guidance Document 6 (GD6) Vibration in floors (Eurocode 5) is now available to download from the TRADA website at http://www.trada.co.uk/. It complements Guidance Document 5 (GD5) How to calculate deformations in timber structures using Eurocodes.

As part of an ongoing market research project with hardwood suppliers, TRADA has expanded its species database with the addition of four more commercially available species - angelim, koto, red louro and sucupira.

TRADA Technology has published a new Wood Information Sheet, Specifying timber exposed to weathering to explain the causes of weathering and the impact it may have on timber's performance.

Launching a year of celebrations to mark its 75th anniversary in 2009, at its AGM earlier this month TRADA announced a research competition for both Corporate and Professional members.

TRADA Technology and BM TRADA will be exhibiting within the Building & Construction section of the BIG 5 exhibition in Dubai from 23rd  - 27th November 2008, to promote product testing and certification.
