A design for a picnic table that enables cyclists to pull up and remain on their bikes while enjoying a social gathering with friends has won this year’s Timbmet Dan Kemp Memorial Pavilion competition.

Wood panel manufacturer Medite will showcasing a wide array of its timber products at the forthcoming Ecobuild 2016 event at London’s ExCel next week.

The organisers of Ecobuild declared their ambitions to further grow the event’s prominence and significance when it unveiled plans for next year’s show.

The organisers of next year’s Ecobuild says 60% of the show’s floorplan has already been booked, with eight major manufacturers already committed as well as newcomer plumbing and drainage supplier Wavin.

Ecobuild’s organisers say this year’s show had a 3% upturn in visitors, with 44,538 visitors coming through the doors at ExCeL in east London.

Climate Week is to be officially launched at Ecobuild this year.

BRE has teamed up with the organisers of trade show Ecobuild to run a range of research projects in the run-up to the event in March next year.
